It was just brought to my attention that yesterday Robert Redford Turned 75 years old. The article notes that this kind of news doesn't make headlines. We hear all about Kim Kardashian's wedding or the latest celeb divorce/break up, or other trivial nonsense about people who have little to no talent. Very sad statement of what we value in entertainment these days.
I for one, have been a huge fan of Bob's since I first fell in love with him in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (just for the record, I was even more in love with Paul Newman).
Not only is he a great actor, he's a great director, a generous philantropist, activist, environmentalist AND he gave indie filmmakers the opportunity of a lifetime by creating the Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival.
What are some of your favorite Robert Redford films/roles? Here's a few of mine, do you recognize all of them?
Love Redford. Two of my favorite lesser known Redford flicks are Sneakers and Three Days of the Condor.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness.....I certainly was in love with him back in the day....and yes, Paul Newman too :) (Paul was from my CT homeland,mind you,...and my girlfriend and I once drove and back and forth by his house trying to see him) LOL
