I know there are hungry people in the USA and other parts of the world that need help. But there is a huge difference between HUNGER and FAMINE. As this video reports:
30,000 children died in the last three months.
I haven't heard of anyone dying of starvation in the USA for years. We spend billions on the military to go to other countries and kill, it would take such a small amount of money to go to Somalia and save.
And this goes for all the First World Countries. Its sad how things are today. If every country that did not have famine could send help to the place that does, we could help them defeat if by building irrigation, bringing food, etc.
Of course, we can't depend only on governmental help for these people, any of us who don't go to bed hungry each night should be able to scrape a few dollars from the bottom of our purses or under the car seat. The smallest amount makes a difference if enough people are willing to share.
Personally, I don't see boundaries dividing us all into nice little neat sections (countries, states, cities, etc) I just see people.
Thank you, ONE.

For two days in a row I've been challenged out of my comfort zone and spurred to take action. Because of you. Because of what you write here. WFTIO is my favorite blog.
ReplyDeleteWhat you said, Big-Heart. What you said.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on every level. It is beyond my comprehension the way that nations are divided and so many different things separate people and they are robbed of their individual worth and are left to suffer and die.
